Loudwire Ranks 'Harakiri' In Their Top Rock Albums of 2012

By Graham "Gruhamed" Hartmann Ever since System of a Down took a break from making music with each other, various solo projects were formed by the band members. In the case of singer Serj Tankian, critics have been entered split decisions when it comes to his solo material, but Tankian arguably created his greatest solo achievement in 2012 with ‘Harakiri.’  Referencing the ritualistic suicide of the Japanese samurai, ‘Harakiri’ comments on political, social and natural issues, using the ‘Harakiri’ concept to draw parallels with recent and mysterious mass deaths of animals. ‘Harakiri’ boasts must-hear tracks such as ‘Butterfly,’ ‘Figure it Out’ and the title track, ‘Harakiri.’

Rolling Stone Interviews Serj Tankian About 'I Am Serj' App

Whether adding syncopated call-and-response vocals to metal songs like System's hit "Chop Suey!" or recording an entire solo album with a symphony, the singer and multi-instrumentalist has worked outside the box. Serj's Guest Blog On Huffington Post

On 7/18/2012, Huffington Post published a guest blog titled "Reset Time" by Serj Tankian addressing the freak occurrences of mass deaths of wildlife around the world.
